The primary purpose of this role is to install and/or repair overhead (garage) doors, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Understanding of products, processes, and paperwork to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
  • Commitment to continually expanding the knowledge base and keeping up with industry changes.
  • Ability to adjust the approach to meet changing demands on the fly.
  • Capable of resolving issues with minimal supervision.
  • Careful and thorough in completing work tasks, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Ability to recognize problems and assist in suggesting and executing effective solutions.
  • Avoid procrastination and take no safety risks, ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently install overhead doors according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
  • Efficiently repair overhead doors, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to restore functionality.
  • Adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal performance and smooth operation of doors.
  • Safely remove or disassemble defective automatic mechanical door closers using appropriate hand tools.
  • Accurately order replacement springs, sections, or slats as needed for repairs.
  • Inspect job sites, assessing headroom, side room, and other conditions to determine the suitability of the door for a given location.
  • Follow up on completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Interact with customers and subcontractors in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs consistently throughout the day.
