As a Lineman A1 you will build and maintain multiphase energized facilities with minimum supervision under working Journeyman or above. Experience required is fourth year first, six months. The work location for this position is in Alpine, TX.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years’ experience in the electrical powerline industry
All the knowledge, skills and abilities required for a Lineman B2
Understand basic electricity and proper use, care and maintenance of hot sticks
Pass evaluation of competency prior to promotion and activity in the Apprenticeship Training Program
Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is preferred
Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card

Responsibilities

Work on utility poles and fixtures on energized situations
Demonstrate proper cover application, handling energized multiphase primary conductors and working around covered multiphase lines
Frame transformer banks, rotate three phase secondary/services and troubleshoot overhead lines
Read job prints and built to spec
Adhere to safety performance requirements
Complete tree trimming, multimeter operations, using line test equipment, cut-outs and reclosures, advanced rigging, line repair with rubber gloves and hot sticks
Introduction to substation safety, capacitors and reactors, power transformers, URD troubleshooting and circuit breakers
Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
