The purpose of the Overhead Crane Service Technician role is to assist the Service team by installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components of overhead cranes. This role works closely with the Service, Projects and Supply Chain departments, all while reporting to the General Manager. This role is currently vacant and is being filled due to an existing position becoming available. WHAT WE OFFER Competitive wages Comprehensive benefits package Company BBQ's and social events Family, friendly environment Profit Sharing Tool/Boot Allowance WHAT YOU WILL DO: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions Display a professional image and work within a team environment to accomplish goals Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls and pullers Order parts and maintain inventory Keep maintenance reports and documentation Perform crane inspections, repairs, installations and respond to breakdown calls Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts Safety Specific: Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and company safety policies and procedures Adhere to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the role Participate in safety training, including regular emergency drills Follow all guidelines for the safe operation of tools, machinery, and vehicles Ensure that safety equipment, including fall protection (e.g., harnesses, lanyards), is properly used, inspected, and maintained Safely operate all equipment and machinery according to training and manufacturer instructions Report all incidents, accidents, and near misses immediately Actively look for and report potential hazards in the workplace Complete customer orientation/training as required and adhere to their policies/procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, etc. Other duties as assigned WHAT YOU NEED: Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum 1 Year of hands-on electrical experience Experience working in a manufacturing environment Welding experience considered an asset Critical thinking skills Technically Inclined Mechanical aptitude Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written Lifting up to 50lbs Knowledge and understanding of structural, electrical, and mechanical systems Able to work in elevated areas Eager to learn Available to work overtime as needed
