About The Position

To deliver a quality load or product either to or from Apache in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years over-the-road experience.
  • Current Wisconsin commercial Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor/trailer in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Operate tractor/trailer under all policies and procedures as set by Apache.
  • Checks and maintains an adequate amount of lubricants, coolants, and fuel are in the tractor/trailer to assure efficient operation, prevent damage or cause delays.
  • Assures that all loads carried by this tractor/trailer do not exceed its maximum rated capacity or license capacity.
  • Order oversize permits as needed.
  • Make any repairs that are in his/her capacity.
  • Maintain all trucks and trailers in the fleet with proper inspections and if needed by others have it arranged.
  • Use extra care when hauling an oversized load.
  • When on the road, maintain a positive company attitude and look out for the companies and your best interest.
  • When on the road, phone in at least once per day to inform supervisor about the trip.
  • Count/inspect material prior to signing Bill of Lading.
  • Fill gas bottles and clean yard as directed by supervisor.
  • Be willing to drive any other vehicle in the fleet.
  • Assist supervisor in any task as required.
  • Record monthly mileage and submit to accounts payable.
  • Make a daily maintenance inspection of tractor/trailer.
  • Fill out the Daily Operators report and report any problems to the Purchasing Manager immediately.
  • Maintain all truck records, I.F.T.A. licenses, fuel permits, etc.
  • Complete accident report as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate expense voucher and submit it in a timely fashion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
