Sets-up, operates, and troubleshoots one or more oval lock machines to oval lock collars to blueprint specifications by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following: Adjusts bowls and tracks for uninterrupted feeding of the crimping machines. Sets jaws (Oval Lock blades) and adjusts location of Oval Lock position to meet required mechanical values. Tests parts for proper mechanical values. Check for proper placement of all safety guards. Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts, and tooling instructions such as feed rates, holding fixtures to be used. Obtains specifications for work required on fasteners by reading router, manufacturing drawings, and SPC. Inspects fasteners to verify correct machine set-up and operation by using gauges and other measuring devices. Knowledge and use of statistical process control program (SPC). Starts machine and observes operation. May load hopper of automatic feed mechanisms. Verifies that fasteners are ready for present operation by comparing routers and pan tags. Reports any discrepancies to supervisor or lead. Proceeds with continuation of job, observing machine frequently to verify correct operation to see that hopper is properly loaded. Adjust machine or tools to maintain test values and quality of oval lock. Performs record keeping, data entry, and housekeeping. Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to elimination or minimize production waste.
