About The Position

On behalf of Jon Oden, MD, Section Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH), CareerPhysician, the national thought leader in academic pediatric search, is pleased to inform you of the national effort to identify an outstanding pediatric endocrinologist to join ACH's Northwest campus in Springdale, AR. The joining provider will hold a faculty appointment at UAMS and will be afforded tremendous autonomy in creating a clinic and procedure schedule that best suits the needs of the practice and patients while also accounting for the quality of life of the physician, which includes a flexible work week schedule and flexible call requirements. The endocrinology clinic in Northwest Arkansas currently provides four patient rooms with approved expansion to a brand-new, multi-disciplinary medical offices building in summer 2024, where endocrinology will be housed on the 4th floor. Pediatric endocrinologists benefit from strong ancillary support, including dietary and nutrition, psychology, endocrine trained registered nurses, and medical assistants. The recruitment package meets ACH eligibility requirements for a $25,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, student loan forgiveness, and a stipend for fellows. J-1 and H-1 visa support is provided to qualified applicants.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree.
  • Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to education and mentorship of residents and fellows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatric endocrinology with niche specialty interests.
  • Interest in clinical, translational, and bench research.

Responsibilities

  • Join an established children's hospital with an approved plan to add two pediatric endocrinologists by 2026.
  • Create a comprehensive pediatric endocrinology program at ACNW, including dieticians and social workers.
  • Provide clinical care to pediatric patients with endocrine disorders.
  • Work with learners starting in Summer of 2026 as part of the community residency program.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research.
  • Manage a flexible clinic and procedure schedule.
