In 2026, DH Pace is celebrating its 100th anniversary in business. DH Pace Company, Inc. in Glendale Heights, IL has a very good Territory Based Outside Sales Representative position available! If you are mechanically inclined and personally enjoy working with your hands and using your mind to figure out if something will or won’t correctly operate/function to provide a solution, this Outside Sales position may really interest you! We are open to considering applicants newer to Sales who have an affinity for working in the construction and/or building products industry. We are also just as interested in considering experienced Sales Representatives who manage a territory of customers who directly buy commercial and/or industrial products for their buildings/facilities from you. As an Outside Sales service provider industry professional calling directly on Commercial/Industrial end-user customers, you will earn a base salary plus quarterly commissions on the products and services you sell. Leverage your sales experience and communication skills to develop relationships with existing customers and aggressively seek and secure new customers through prospecting activities to sell commercial doors. Will be responsible for increasing sales revenue for product lines such as commercial door systems and entry door systems, to include automatic entry doors, manual entry doors, and commercial doors. Position Overview: Meet with decision makers to influence the purchase of our comprehensive line of commercial doors and related door products and services Cultivate sales within commercial and industrial sectors calling on building owners/managers, educational institutions/colleges, K-12, municipalities, retail sector and hospitals in Chicago metro area Meet or exceed sales and gross profit performance standards Provide timely, accurate estimates and proposals Maintain and update Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) daily Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of relevant service provider industry outside sales experience successfully calling on hospitals, educational institutions, retail sector, building owners, property managers, purchasing/procurement managers at industrial/commercial building facilities selling building products, construction materials, or other mechanical / technical type products and service agreements. However, we will also consider less experienced applicants who are naturally mechanically-inclined and believe sales will be a good career choice based on personal attributes.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must enjoy generating sales by prospecting for new business and cultivating additional business with existing customers.
  • Work Hours are 7AM – 5PM Monday – Friday.
  • Initial training will take place daily at the office and in the field and may include training at other nearby locations.
  • Daily will visit/call on local customers/businesses and will also work most days at the office at various times for technical sales work order support to ensure accuracy of products, measurements…
  • Proficient with Windows based programs and ERP/CRM systems; will maintain and update Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) daily.
  • Possess an ability for technical applications and mechanical systems.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.
