About The Position

Summary: The outside sales representative is responsible for bringing new customers and business to the company and maintaining / growing existing customers, by contacting and performing the following assigned outside sales responsibilities.

  • Prior electrical sales experience helpful and ability to relate well with people and work in an unstructured work environment.
  • Drivers License - Must meet insurance underwriting requirements

Responsibilities

  • Contacts prospective and current customers to solicit sales of company products and services.
  • Receives customer inquiries, and performs follow up procedures to include providing price quotes, new product information, and receiving feedback regarding company products and services.
  • Follows up with sales leads generated through incoming calls, advertising campaigns and other promotional efforts.
  • Travels to customer locations to present company products, services and pricing information in a professional manner.
  • Applies technical knowledge of company products and services to best meet customer needs.
  • Maintains appropriate records for the development of sales forecasts for each customer.
  • Submits appropriate paperwork to management such as expense reports and call reports in accordance with training procedures.
  • Understands and supports company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers, and foster the development of long term business relationships.
  • Assists and resolves customer complaints in a timely manner, notifies management of problems and suggests corrective actions.
  • Collects and reports competitive information to management.
  • Attends training activities and trade shows on behalf of company to present information regarding company products and services.
  • Drives to field job sites and walk the sites on a daily basis.
  • Facilitate the Sales Manager in establishing budgets for all sales accounts.
  • Meet and/or surpass all set customer goals.
  • Maintain annual sales growth.
  • Prospect continuously for new accounts that will do regular month-to-month business.
  • Provides after hours support to customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
