Granite City Electric is seeking a self-motivated and articulate customer focused Outside Sales professional having the desire to grow their career with the largest independent electrical distributor in New England. Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of electrical applications and layout, Square D products, Eclipse software and EPEC Certification. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Outside Sales person will be responsible for generating and maintaining profitable sales by providing customer service excellence, value-added service and solutions to new and existing customers. Base salary for this position is a range of $60,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience, plus commission. Essential Functions: Grow sales and gross margin within your assigned territory and account base as well as develop new account opportunities. Identify customer needs and utilize the appropriate company resources to meet them. Follow-up on existing orders, process all customer inquiries in a timely fashion. Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction through effective communication. Embark on value based selling. Sell services and provide accurate information to the customer. Maximize sales & profitability through knowledge of marketplace and presenting a competitive advantage. Manage time properly, be well-planned. Work effectively with internal customers. Actively support promotions. Work within the policies and procedures of the company. Work with Regional Sales Manager to develop accurate annual sales plans. Proven negotiations skills such as negotiating contracts/conditions with contractors & purchasing personnel. Proven track record of successful sales experience and demonstrated ability to close business. Demonstrated ability to build, enhance and maintain effective business relationships with both customer base and internal GCE staff. Strong verbal, written & presentation skills. Proven team player with branch locations, corporate, hubs, etc. Ability to plan and prioritize activities and handle confidential information. Proven ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization. Must possess high degree of organization skills and be a self-starter. In-depth knowledge of electrical product and how products inter-relate. Adaptability / flexibility / willing to change & adjust with business conditions. Coachable & actively participates in coaching process. Team player, Multitasker. Works with a sense of urgency.
