Requirements

  • Proven outside B2B sales experience in technical, industrial, or construction-related products or systems.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with facility engineers, validation teams, and design professionals.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the drive to succeed in the field.
  • Business acumen to discuss ROI, energy optimization, lifecycle value, and regulatory benefits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or environmental monitoring systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business within the life sciences, industrial, healthcare, and research sectors throughout Central New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanical and general contractors, consulting engineers, facility owners, and operations leaders.
  • Partner early in project design to influence specifications and deliver reliable, value-driven control solutions.
  • Respond to RFPs, develop tailored proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Manage account growth through renewals, system upgrades, and expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Represent HCT at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Track your sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and meet or exceed your performance goals.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Central New Jersey and the Philadelphia region (50–75%).
