About The Position

Vector Security is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (Home Security Technology) responsible for developing new residential customers within an assigned territory. In this field-based role, you will meet with homeowners to assess their needs and recommend security and smart home technology solutions including alarm systems, video surveillance, and home automation. Successful candidates are motivated self-starters who enjoy building relationships in their community, managing their own territory, and developing a strong sales pipeline. By delivering solutions that protect people, property, and operations, representatives play a key role in helping customers feel secure while growing their own income through performance-based earnings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success in previous sales or performance-driven positions, including meeting or exceeding established goals or targets
  • Experience in outside sales, door-to-door sales, retail sales, or other customer-facing roles strongly preferred
  • Ability to proactively prospect and generate residential sales opportunities through networking, referrals, relationship building, and in-person engagement with homeowners
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to initiate conversations, build trust quickly, and clearly demonstrate the value of Vector’s products
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required

Responsibilities

  • Sell Vector Security’s residential security and smart home solutions while achieving sales orders, recurring monthly revenue (RMR), and unit targets
  • Generate new sales opportunities through prospecting activities such as door-to-door outreach, community involvement, networking, and engaging existing customers for referrals
  • Manage and work assigned leads while documenting activity and maintaining a strong closing ratio
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge through ongoing training and certifications and educate homeowners on Vector Security products and services
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term engagement
  • Identify opportunities to grow the customer base and develop new market segments within the territory
