About The Position

As an Outside Sales Representative for Wesco, you will be responsible for developing new prospects and managing customer accounts to increase sales and margins of the company's products and services. This role emphasizes face-to-face selling and account management, requiring engagement with various levels of customer organizations, including technical and executive management. You will also be tasked with delivering sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to meet sales revenue goals.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior sales experience required, with a preference for outside sales.
  • Two years of industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to current and potential clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.

  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assess customer needs and suggest products, services, and/or solutions to ensure a smooth sales process.
  • Execute and expand assigned customer account plans developed in conjunction with management.
  • Implement billing margin initiatives through value-added services, marketing programs, and supplier engagement.
  • Prospect potential customers through cold calling and developing leads via referral channels.
  • Communicate with customers to identify and understand their product or service needs, suggesting appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrate product functions and utility based on customer needs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, resolving post-sale issues.
  • Maintain communication with existing and previous customers about new products, services, and enhancements.
  • Utilize sales management tools for planning and documenting opportunities.
  • Develop product knowledge through training from WESCO and suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, including conducting regular joint sales calls.
  • Provide quotations directly or in conjunction with the sales support team.
