Reimagine What’s Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for an Outside Sales Representative, residence-based in the Columbus, OH area. Air Products is a world-leading Industrial Gases company having both process gas applications and gasification technology that has been in operation for over 80 years. We have multiple product lines, over 750 production facilities in over 50 countries, and serve over 30 different industries, creating broad opportunities for growth and development. And we are growing! This Outside, business-to-business sales position will sell Microbulk and small bulk cryogenic industrial gases (e.g. nitrogen, oxygen, and argon) to a wide variety of market segments including hospitals, life sciences, laboratories, food packagers, metals fabrication and general industrial sites in the Columbus territory!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
  • Strong skills in selling, influencing, persuading, and closing deals
  • Highly competitive and self-motivated
  • Comfortable with daily face-to-face cold calling in a local territory
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline of 50+ prospects
  • Polished and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in outside sales
  • Positive attitude with proactive listening and objection-handling skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive new customer acquisition through proactive outreach and relationship development
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned revenue and profit targets
  • Accurately and promptly complete new account setup and documentation
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities and customer interactions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and customer satisfaction
