About The Position

A leading national distributor of electrical products, data communications, and related supplies is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team in OHIO. With a strong nationwide footprint and hundreds of distribution locations across the U.S., we provide contractors, industrial clients, and commercial customers with the products and solutions they need to keep projects moving. We’re looking for a driven sales professional who understands the electrical distribution space and knows how to build lasting relationships. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable sales growth by developing and maintaining high-quality relationships with both new and existing customers. This role focuses on consultative selling, solution development, and delivering exceptional customer service while leveraging digital tools and supplier partnerships.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably within electrical distribution
  • Background in the electrical industry
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate electrical products and solutions
  • Generate new business and expand existing accounts
  • Develop strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Identify customer objectives and tailor solutions to meet their needs
  • Assist with product selection and application support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers on quotes and project support
  • Provide ongoing communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle
  • Coordinate vendor sales calls and product demonstrations
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing
  • Resolve payment issues in partnership with management and credit teams
  • Maintain accurate sales call reports, schedules, and expense documentation
  • Actively participate in training, supplier seminars, and professional development
  • Utilize CRM and digital sales tools to gain competitive advantage
