As the Outside Sales Rep, you will maximize Company sales and profitability by growing, maintaining, and actively promoting products to new or existing customers.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework complete, 4-year degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of outside sales experience that is results & solutions focused with a proven track record of success. Prior industry experience helpful, but not required.
  • Functional Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to actively listen, engage the customer, and provide proactive solutions based on individualized needs. Solid business acumen to understand customers goals. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close the sales. Solid organizational and planning skills are also needed.
  • Technology Aptitude/Other : Intermediate computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel along with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, metric conversions, area calculations, and apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; to respond to common inquires or complaints from Customers or the public; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of Customers or Employees of the organization.

Demonstrates a positive can-do attitude, values team collaboration yet can work independently when required. Friendly and warm demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and grows new and existing client relationships, as well as maintains customer confidentiality.
  • Generates and follows up on sale leads while continually looking for new business opportunities within all segments of the industry.
  • Participates in industry functions such as home shows and professional association meetings to network, build relationships, and generate leads.
  • Provides new and existing customers with updates on new product lines, ensuring information shared is accurate and focused on the customer's needs.
  • Maintains and stays up to date on product knowledge, availability, and technical aspects product including installation.
  • Understands the customer's business, provides solutions that fit, and uses negotiation techniques to close the sale.
