About The Position

The Outside Sales Manager is a highly motivated, sales-driven individual who will be responsible for selling our products and services nationwide. This position can work out of any of our branch offices. The selected candidate will be required to develop relationships with existing clients, cold call prospective clients, communicate inbound leads from customers to Account Managers, and successfully handoff new customers to Account Managers as dictated by the VP of Sales. This position reports directly to the VP of Sales.

Requirements

  • Able to effectively manage a high volume of incoming calls and emails
  • Have a highly motivated and energetic personality with the ability to adapt and learn quickly
  • Be able to work as part of a team, and have the desire to be part of a growing company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
  • Basic understanding and skills with Rentex’s inventory platform to solve the highest-level problems
  • A strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and computer equipment and specifications
  • Well versed in standard live event production practices and standards
  • Is personable with an ability to elicit trust and enthusiasm from potential and existing clients

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year college degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in audio/visual, event production or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in outside sales maintaining customer relationships

Responsibilities

  • Work in tandem with Account Managers to continue to develop existing accounts
  • Utilize available tools to establish and grow strong relationships with key decision makers
  • Ability to establish and expand relationships with key decision makers
  • Build referral sources and strategic alliances
  • Prospect, cold call, and develop new business within assigned markets
  • Outbound calling to potential and established clients daily to set face-to-face appointments
  • Consistently closing sales and achieving monthly activity and revenue goals/quotas
  • Manage monthly appointment activity and sales calls
  • Meet or exceed prospecting objectives
  • Attend networking events both during and after business hours
  • Remain current with product knowledge, trends, and initiatives within the audio visual & computer rental industry
  • Consistently improve knowledge of Rentex rental inventory through self-study, monthly team presentations, and product training sessions
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal clients
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with customers and co-workers
  • React to constantly changing circumstances and handle customer objections in a professional manner
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the VP of Sales
