About The Position

Gateway Supply Company is seeking a driven and results-oriented Outside Plumbing Sales Representative to support and grow our customer base of plumbing and mechanical contractors in the greater Raleigh, NC area. We’re looking for a self-motivated, disciplined team player with a proven track record of success. This role offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary, monthly commissions, and quarterly bonuses. Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales in the plumbing, HVAC, or industrial supply industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems is a plus
  • college degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with plumbing and mechanical contractors throughout the Bluffton, SC area.
  • Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts through consistent customer engagement and follow-up.
  • Promote and sell plumbing, HVAC, and industrial supply products, leveraging Gateway Supply’s full product offering and vendor partnerships.
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet project and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including inside sales, purchasing, and delivery—to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient order fulfillment.
  • Track sales performance, prepare reports, and maintain customer records.
  • Stay current on product knowledge, market trends, and competitor activity to effectively position Gateway Supply as a leader in the market.
  • Attend training sessions, vendor events, and trade shows as needed to support ongoing education and sales development.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and performance metrics.
