As an OSP Engineer at Frontier, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of our outside plant network, which is essential for delivering high-speed broadband connectivity to our customers. This position is based in Delaware, OH, and requires you to work in-person to fulfill your responsibilities effectively. You will be responsible for designing the network from the central office to the customer premises, which includes various types of plant such as underground, aerial, and buried installations. Your work will not only involve new construction but also maintenance activities within the Frontier network. In this role, you will utilize a variety of current and evolving technologies, including digital loop carrier, broadband, and DSL, to complete your assignments. You will be expected to manage your workload independently while collaborating with other engineers, vendors, and municipalities to ensure that designs are accurate and meet the necessary specifications. Your ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively will be key to your success in this position. You will also be responsible for interfacing with other organizations throughout the provisioning process, using automated design programs, and employing OSP methods and procedures to prepare designs. This includes analyzing data from planning documents and field notes to create estimates and work orders for growth, customer demand, and maintenance of the outside plant network. During field visits, you will need to identify any unsafe conditions and design appropriate corrective measures. Additionally, you will oversee the work of engineering vendors and track the progress of construction to ensure timely completion of engineering work orders and plans.
