About The Position

The OSP Field Supervisor needs to be deadline-driven to oversee our construction projects and to act as the link between various project parties. This position will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on-site. This position is responsible for orderliness on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are coordinated or available on-site at all times and will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals as needed. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company.
  • OTDR measurement.
  • OSP procedures/processes.
  • Fiber Splicing Procedures/Schematics.
  • RUS Specifications.
  • Must have successfully completed industrial first aid and rescue training.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email with team members and clients.
  • Must be self-motivated with the desire to learn new things and project a positive attitude toward others in all work-related settings.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Must be able to work on a team and independently as required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to travel out of market/state for up to several months at a time (90%).
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background, drug testing, and DOT physical.
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10 years’ experience directly with OSP installation.
  • Related trade school education.
  • A commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safety First – Put safety first and production second. Always.
  • Lead and manage the on-site construction team, setting clear expectations and goals. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Coordinating and overseeing all work on site.
  • Attending production meetings.
  • Constantly review and familiarize yourself with the schedule and ensure adherence.
  • Placing orders for materials and is responsible for equipment and materials on site.
  • Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
  • Maintaining records for site personnel, such as daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs.
  • Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals.
  • Must continue to work towards training and certifications for work-related jobs.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
  • Other duties as assigned.
