Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction

As an Outside Plant Engineer (OPE), you'll support all phases of utility construction across a variety of telecom projects. You take pride in doing the job right, being the best at what you do, and rising to every challenge. In this role, you will: Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project plans for outside plant construction, ensuring effective scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination. Oversee projects through all phases of construction, conducting site walkouts, leading project meetings, and verifying that blueprints and plans align with actual field conditions. Perform accurate data entry and project tracking, maintaining up-to-date records in Excel, Smartsheet, and other project management tools. Ensure clear, consistent communication with all key stakeholders, including customers, hiring managers, engineers, and field crews. Travel to job sites as needed to perform quality checks, meet with teams, and implement project updates. Prepare and submit complete close-out packages, ensuring all documentation and as-built information meet customer and company standards. Meet customer deadlines while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Safety is part of your everyday mindset, and you take pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • 3+ years of experience in Telecom Project Management, Outside Plant Construction, or a related field.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maps, with working knowledge of right-of-ways, redlining, and whitelining.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Smartsheet, with strong skills in data entry, tracking, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
  • Enjoys problem-solving and troubleshooting in the field - not afraid to get hands-on and work alongside the crew.
  • Comfortable in a varied work environment, both in the office and outdoors, with regular travel to job sites.
  • Holds a valid driver's license and a clean driving record (past 3 years).
  • MOS Codes 12166, 62E1G, 12A, 12N, 12T relate well to this position.
