About The Position

The Outside Operator at PIC Group, Inc. is responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of equipment at a 400MW Cogen site. This role involves performing operations functions, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability of the power plant's systems. The position requires a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to environmental procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on work experience in a combined cycle facility.
• Experience with water production or wastewater facilities.
• High school diploma or GED, trade school, military service, or technical school training required.
• 5+ years of experience in power plant machinery operations and/or maintenance with knowledge of combined cycle gas turbine power plants.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high degree of computer skills.
• Ability to communicate competently with all levels of personnel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Experience in a power plant environment with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and documentation to resolve problems discovered on shift.
• Conduct daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement, and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.
• Make decisions and recommend appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers and supervisors.
• Conduct excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment proficiently.
• Develop and implement plant operating procedures.
• Understand the relationship of equipment to plant systems.
• Provide instruction and training to junior level employees.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures related to plant operations and maintenance.
