About The Position

The position involves various responsibilities related to operations, maintenance, customer service, and billing within a cooperative environment. The employee will be responsible for weighing incoming and outgoing grain, assisting in settling grain, maintaining communication with local farm customers, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of work areas and equipment. Customer service is a key aspect, requiring fast and courteous service, as well as handling customer inquiries and complaints. The role also includes billing responsibilities, ensuring timely delivery and charging of products, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Understand the seasonality of the farm supply business.
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customers and individuals at all levels.
  • Possesses problem solving capability and understands the operational process.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh incoming and outgoing grain.
  • Assist in settling grain in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of commodity prices and trends.
  • Assist in loading and unloading products from vehicles.
  • Unload and load grain from trucks and wagons.
  • Fill and transport NH3 equipment.
  • Assist in other areas of the location as needed.
  • Keep resource manuals accessible and current.
  • Ensure work area, equipment, and vehicles are neat, clean, and well maintained.
  • Assist in setup and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform standard routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain grain quality.
  • Provide fast, efficient, and courteous customer service.
  • Answer incoming calls and relay information to appropriate personnel.
  • Handle and direct customer complaints.
  • Ensure all items sold are delivered and charged in a timely manner.
  • Bill products picked up by customers.
  • Correctly split tickets for landlords as directed by growers.
  • Use all tools, equipment, and vehicles carefully.
  • Work extended hours as requested by supervisor.
