As a Media Sales Consultant, you’ll be a key partner to businesses in your community—helping them navigate the changing world of marketing and connect meaningfully with customers through our expansive portfolio of print and digital products. You won’t just be selling ads - you’ll be building relationships, solving problems, and driving success for your clients. Every campaign you sell supports the journalism our communities rely on - and helps Maine businesses stay strong and visible in an increasingly competitive and digital-first economy. Requirements

  • A passion for local business and community impact.
  • Proven experience in consultative sales, with a strong grasp of digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Grow advertising revenue by selling integrated campaigns across print, digital, sponsorships, events, and emerging platforms.
  • Help clients identify the right strategies to achieve their business goals and stand out in a crowded market.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to local businesses, offering insights on market trends and consumer behavior.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets within your assigned territory or account list.
