About The Position

The Outside Maintenance Specialist will work in the Facilities Department. You will make sure that all areas of the outside property are in good working order, and free from debris.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have experience running landscape equipment (i.e., lawn mower, trimmer, shears, etc.).
  • Must have experience running snow removal equipment.
  • Must be able to handle chemicals safely with MSDS knowledge.
  • Experience running heavy equipment or Bobcat.
  • Must obtain a valid driver’s license and provide a DMV printout.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, heat, snow and cold.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently without constant direct supervision.
  • Must have basic plant knowledge.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends.
  • Must be able to drive and operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, collect and dispose of trash including all parking lots, the parking garage, Marriott and Galaxy lots to keep the outside grounds clean and free of debris.
  • Remove snow by utilizing snowplows and snow blowers, as well as shoveling snow by hand.
  • Keep planter boxes and driveway areas clean and clear of debris.
  • Empty all trash receptacles and clean cans as needed.
  • Clean all aspects of the elevator tower, including elevator, windows, railings, and floors.
  • On occasion, pressure wash stairs and walls when needed.
  • Perform maintenance of lots to include oil removal, ice melt, and inspection of all curbs and parking stops for loose concrete or exposed rebar.
  • Perform ground maintenance including mowing and edging of lawns.
  • Perform a wide range of plant care, from planting to pruning and weed removal.
  • Work assigned sections independently and unsupervised.
  • Thatch weed infestations with topical herbicides and manual removal.
  • Operate Bobcat to transport loads, including weekly cardboard bails from loading docks.
  • Rig, harness and secure loads during transport operations.
  • Inventory workspace area for consumables, event equipment and departmental fuels.
  • Refill departmental fuels and equipment.
  • Paint curbs, parking spaces and walkway crossings.
  • Provide event support and logistics during seasonal events.
  • Transport refuse to regional dump site.
  • Maintain and perform periodic maintenance on landscaping equipment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, fellow team members, and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
