About The Position

Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an Outside Machinist 4 to help support our operations. The Outside Machinist 4 is responsible for the overhaul, alignment, and adjustment of machinery equipment in place onboard ship; cut, shape, and drill various materials; assemble and disassemble mechanical parts according to technical manuals; clean and preserve parts; perform related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of ship layout.
• Trained in machine shop equipment, alignment process, and blueprint reading.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be able to access and move around ship safely.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• The ability to obtain a DBIDS credential.
