About The Position

As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to customers, helping them achieve their goals. This position is based in Austin, TX. The role involves overall sales and relationship management for existing and prospective customers within an assigned territory, including pursuing new customers, deepening existing customer relationships, and sales territory management. Gordon Food Service provides comprehensive training during the first 90 days, covering systems, products, sales processes, networking, and territory management strategies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
  • Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain your food safety certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants within your territory
  • Identify and research prospective customers within your territory
  • Develop sales strategies that highlight products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service and present them to prospective customers
  • Visit all customers within the assigned territory on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
  • Conduct business reviews to determine existing customers' needs and areas of opportunity for growing sales
  • Provide ongoing training to customers on Gordon Food Service product offerings
  • Identify opportunities within existing customers' businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings
  • Balance new customer acquisition and deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships
  • Coordinate visits to prospective customers and existing customers
  • Communicate order status and order processing updates to customers
