Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Outside Electricians Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines. Job Responsibilities: The Outside Electrician is responsible for: Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (also includes control, power, electronics, and weapon systems). Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting. Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization. Groom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and also responsible to provide documentation for every job performed. Mechanics are provided skills, including Vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services. Applicants will be tasked to learn power and data/signal cable splicing.
