About The Position

The Outside Builder Sales Specialist is a key role within the outside sales team, focused on driving sales and establishing relationships within the construction industry. This position requires a deep understanding of the market, strong communication skills, and a proven sales track record. The specialist will work closely with builders, contractors, and architects to promote products and services, generate leads, and close sales effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, building codes, and project management processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with the construction industry.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with maintaining CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the appliances industry is appreciated but NOT required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and maximize market penetration within the builder segment.
  • Identify and prioritize key builders, contractors, architects, and influencers within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients through regular communication, site visits, presentations, and networking events.
  • Understand the unique needs and requirements of the single-family, multi-family, and property management spaces and provide customized solutions to meet their specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including delivery, service, and purchasing, to support sales initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a relationship with vendor partners to ensure the best options for each project.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasting and reporting to management.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times, adhering to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
