About The Position

The position involves inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating auto physical damage claims for both personal and business insurance. The role requires the candidate to reside in or relocate to Central and West Los Angeles County, where they will work under direct supervision to assess claims related to various types of auto damage, including collision and comprehensive claims. The candidate will serve as a technical resource for auto claim staff and will be responsible for ensuring optimal outcomes throughout the claim life cycle.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED with a minimum of one year auto appraisal experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree or Technical School Degree preferred.
  • State appraiser and claim handling licenses preferred.
  • Two years of auto appraisal experience preferred; prior experience with insurance carrier preferred.
  • Strong technical background in auto repair and repair techniques preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of claims appraisal systems and overall claim operations.
  • Windows proficiency, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong mathematical and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact and effective communication.
  • Manage work assignments and travel to the location of the vehicle or equipment.
  • Scope claims using technical expertise to determine physical claim value.
  • Prepare and document accurate vehicle damage appraisals according to guidelines.
  • Partner with assigned Claim Professionals throughout the claim process.
  • Negotiate claims with customers and repair facilities to achieve agreement on value.
  • Determine settlement amounts for Total Loss claims and initiate payments to customers.
  • Provide inspection assistance for various lines of business as needed.
  • Review and analyze coverage and apply policy conditions to auto damage claims.
  • Conduct damage management and maintain appropriate claim reserves.
