This position’s primary role is to triage and respond to phone calls, emails and social media posts for the Community Service program. The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for creating and monitoring content and engagement on social media platforms; providing outreach and education about Community Service programs and services to youth and community members; and monitoring and updating community resources. Division/Program Overview: • Valley Star Community Services One Stop TAY Center provides counseling and an array of supportive mental health, substance abuse, employment and educational services. • Services are provided in the office, home or in community locations. • Amenities like showers, laundry, phone and internet services available on site. • Center helps young adults ages 16-25 focus on their goals through a variety of services: o Individual and family counseling o Group Counseling o Psychiatric care o Medication management o Crisis intervention services o Intense case management o Housing and vocational support o Independent living skills training We are committed to providing a career-enhancing environment for dedicated professionals desiring to improve the lives of people living with mental health and other challenges to their well-being. Requirements

  • Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years of age
  • Associate’s degree in a social service field or a minimum of six (6) years of experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Valid California Driver License and clear DMV printout

Responsibilities

  • This position’s primary role is to triage and respond to phone calls, emails and social media posts for the Community Service program.
  • The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for creating and monitoring content and engagement on social media platforms
  • Providing outreach and education about Community Service programs and services to youth and community members
  • Monitoring and updating community resources.
