About The Position

Lead community & street outreach efforts for the CO-ED program and carry out all required responsibilities as needed; Provide screening, assessment, and brief interventions as needed; Provide referrals to appropriate community resources; Participation in facilitating ancillary services, i.e. continuing care, networking with community agencies, participating in homeless connect events and developing and updating referral and resource information, etc.; Participation in team meetings and Guam's Continuum of Care as required; Coordinate and partner with community resources to promote the wellbeing of the consumers and develop and maintain working knowledge of available community resources and act as liaison; Conduct outreach activities, including street outreach; Attend scheduled meetings within the community; Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of college-level education is required.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to the populations served
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required
  • CPR Certification and First Aid Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field is preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience in providing direct counseling services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems is preferred
  • Intake and assessment experience is preferred
  • Marketing and/or sales experience preferred
  • Bilingual is preferred
