About The Position

Outreach Specialist Temporary Urgently Hiring M-F 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (occasional Saturdays to attend events) Salary: $31.25 / hour Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Lynwood area. SHIELDS’ mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles. The Outreach Specialist is responsible for engaging individuals, families, and community partners to increase awareness of program services, strengthen referrals, and support participant enrollment. This role conducts community outreach, builds relationships with partner agencies, provides information about available resources, and helps identify families who may benefit from services. The Outreach Specialist represents the organization professionally in the community, maintains accurate documentation, and supports program goals through active engagement, communication, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficiency, including experience with SPSS

AA or BA degree Preferred
