About The Position
The State Library of North Carolina (SLNC) is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team! The Outreach Specialist at the SLNC Accessible Books and Library Services (SLNC ABLS) performs outreach activities to increase awareness and understanding of the library's services and recruit eligible patrons who cannot read standard print due to a visual, physical, or reading disability. This position assists in creating, writing, and disseminating outreach materials in print, braille, audio, and video formats and through social media and the library website. This position also makes presentations, conducts special programs, and staffs exhibit displays at disability and professional conferences and meetings throughout the state to raise awareness and promote library services to North Carolinians with visual and physical disabilities. This position also assists with planning and conducting special library programs for patrons and monitoring the work of library volunteers for accuracy and quality control.
