About The Position

Key Point Health Services is a leading nonprofit agency serving people with behavioral healthcare needs in the Greater Baltimore area. We provide comprehensive community-based services that help people thrive while realizing and choosing their goals. We provide opportunities, support and integration within our community. Among the programs and services, we provide are Outpatient Mental Health Centers, Adult and Child Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs, School-Based Therapy, Community Outreach, and Residential Services. We are currently looking for a full-time Rehab Counselor to join our Aberdeen team. Someone who has either experience or education related to the mental health field and an eagerness to grow in the field. Someone who has knowledge of the DSM and relevant symptoms of the most common diagnosis within the PRP programs. Someone who can demonstrate proficiency in assessments, treatment planning, advocacy skills and case management skills. Someone who can demonstrate the ability to express themselves well through writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills. Someone who has an understanding and sensitivity to serving culturally diverse and/or special needs population while maintaining patient confidentially.

Requirements

  • High school diploma AND 2 years of experience in psychiatric rehab, mental health, human services field and/or customer service experience in preferred.
  • OR
  • AA degree in psychology, sociology, psychiatric rehab, mental health, or a related human services field with no experience required
  • Valid and active Maryland driver's license (or state of residence) (must be active for at least 3 years)
  • Pass a criminal background check, MVA check, and provide a negative drug screen.
  • Must have own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document onsite and offsite psychoeducational groups.
  • Responsible for teaching community skills including ADLs as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation such as treatment plans and progress notes. Staff are responsible for teaching community skills including ADLs as needed.
  • Safely transport PRP members to and from the program and offsite activities.
  • Responsible for the comprehensive services offered through on-site and off-site programs. This includes assessment, case management, psycho education, crisis intervention, advocacy, and community liaison.
  • Must drive 15 passenger vans.
