About The Position

The Outreach & Prevention Education Coordinator (OPEC) will develop and execute outreach campaigns aimed at Native American communities, focusing on prevention education related to various forms of victimization. This role involves coordinating educational activities, engaging with the community through events, and managing social media platforms to promote the program's initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Marketing, Creative Writing, Design, Communications, etc.).
  • Familiarity with technology and online design tools like Canva.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate clear public speaking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, across various levels of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency in standard office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe DC, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely with proper grammar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outreach or prevention education (not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with social media management and online content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop outreach and prevention campaigns for various demographics within the Native American community.
  • Write and design promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and blogs to advertise the program and its services.
  • Compile estimates for outreach supplies in accordance with grant budgets.
  • Order educational supplies for events while adhering to budget and inventory policies.
  • Assist with scheduling and attending outreach activities, both in-house and with network providers.
  • Maintain the program's website and social media accounts, including YouTube and podcasts.
  • Create quarterly newsletters, activity reports, and other required documents for program planning and execution.
  • Cultivate relationships with tribal administration and service providers for outreach programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Program Director and staff.
