About The Position

The Outreach & Intake Specialist II plays a crucial role in preventing homelessness by promoting awareness of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program and conducting eligibility screenings for Veterans. This position involves community outreach, networking, and providing essential information and referrals to Veterans in need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in a customer service focused environment.
• Experience with homeless, low income, veterans & their families is a strong plus.
• Experience as Outreach & Intake Specialist I preferred.
• Driver's License with a clear record.
• Daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and networking activities in the community, including stand-downs, tent cities, bus stations, shelters, and under bridges.
• Provide presentations at various community groups within the greater metropolitan and surrounding area.
• Promote the success and reputation of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.
• Conduct initial eligibility screening of Veterans seeking program assistance.
• Provide general information and community referrals to Veterans not meeting program eligibility requirements.
• Set up initial client files for Veterans being assigned to Case Managers.
• Prepare reports as requested by Lead Outreach and Intake Specialist, Program Manager, or Site Coordinator.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service by prioritizing the needs of clients.
