About The Position

This outreach position will conduct outreach to homeless within the New York City Subway system, including end of the line stations, and on joint outreach with MTAPD or NYPD. The position is responsible for accompanying and providing direct supervision of outreach staff on shift, which includes providing real-time feedback, modeling behavior, and communicating with partners and city agencies. The role also coordinates onboarding for new outreach staff, leads trainings for existing staff, ensures team and client safety, maintains knowledge of homeless services, records and maintains accurate data, consults with supervisors, and provides emergency first aid/CPR or overdose prevention protocol assistance when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of direct outreach experience required.
  • Associate's Degree with 1 year of direct outreach experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 months of direct outreach experience will be considered.
  • Valid driver's license strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
  • CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
  • Vaccination preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with shift and clinical supervisors for service coordination.
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR or overdose prevention assistance.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
