Outreach/Enrollment Specialist - Full Time - Days - 8hr QVH
About The Position
The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist is a distinct position, trained to offer information and enrollment assistance with programs available to low and moderate income residents of the San Gabriel Valley, such as Medi-Cal, MCAP, Covered California, KCHP and county-based subsidized programs. The position functions as both an educator about the health programs and an ombudsman to the client for problems which may occur in the system. Assists the client to enroll or “troubleshoots” an existing application. Conducts follow-up calls with clients to confirm enrollment, utilization of services and annual redetermination. Conducts community outreach presentations and attends community events. The Outreach and Enrollment Specialist is a part of a dynamic and flexible outreach and education team. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft computer programs.
- One year experience with enrollment, retention and troubleshooting of health care benefits programs for low-income communities preferred.
- Ability to establish trusting, supportive relationships in an ethnically diverse population with empathy and compassion.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Certification of completion of Maternal Child Health Access “We’ve Got You Covered” comprehensive training within 90 days of hire/transfer.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Covered California Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC) Certification preferred.
