About The Position

The Outreach & Engagement Graduate Assistant position at Clemson University Campus Recreation is designed for graduate students who will manage and implement outreach and engagement strategies for the department. This role involves overseeing a team, developing content, and enhancing the Campus Recreation brand through various communication channels. The position requires a commitment of 25 hours per week and includes a stipend along with a full tuition waiver for accepted graduate students.

Requirements

• Acceptance in a graduate program at Clemson University.
• Experience working within a collegiate recreation setting.
• Hold First Aid/CPR/AED certification or acquire within 30 days of hire.
• Position subject to a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Strong knowledge of Social Media Analytics.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Proficient with using both Mac and Windows computers.
• Demonstrated understanding of marketing strategies and techniques.
• Proven ability to recruit, develop, lead, supervise, and motivate student personnel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of four to six student interns, including graphic designers, photographer/videographers, and social media interns.
• Assist with developing a promotional plan each semester for all Campus Recreation departments.
• Schedule promotion dates and events on campus, ensuring materials are prepared.
• Develop and approve all print materials and monitor TV promotional displays.
• Assist with the creation of written, visual, and multimedia content for marketing purposes.
• Monitor social media accounts and plan/implement social media campaigns each semester.
• Promote Campus Recreation at campus-wide events and assist with departmental special events.
• Conduct research on trends in higher education marketing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
