Under the direction of the Student & Family Programs Coordinator, performs, assists, and leads a series of 90-minute programs primary for third through fifth grade elementary students within Jefferson County and the Denver Metro area school system. Schedule will vary. Must be able to drive to teaching locations. The anticipated start date for this position is December 2025 or January 2026. Position duration: the 2025-2026 school year (through May 2026). This position will start two days per week averaging 10-15 hours. Programs are scheduled Tuesday through Friday depending on days worked during the school hours of 7:30am to 3:30pm. Programs are not scheduled on most holidays and school breaks. JOB SUMMARY Instructs and leads the 90-minute outreach programs Building Colorado and Ute Knowledge: STEM Kit programs in elementary school classrooms. Performs a variety of program duties including interpretation and instruction of lesson plans to elementary students with a class size of no more than 30 students per program. May instruct one to four classroom programs during the day. Utilizes classroom technologies such as projection systems, teacher computers, Prezi presentation software, Google Suite, and Google calendar for scheduling. Facilitates full classroom activities and smaller group work. Gives clear and concise instruction and can manage transitions between activities. Facilitates classroom discussion. Attends required trainings to learn program content and facilitation requirements. Adapts programming for each session depending on group dynamic while maintaining the integrity of program plan provided. Communicates with teachers and staff to provide information about program activities and program requirements. Provides a safe, creative and fun environment for participants. Regularly communicates with supervisor in order to provide quality programming. Organizes materials, inventories supplies, and recommends purchasing of supplies and equipment when needed to ensure preparedness for each session. Use of personal vehicle to drive to and from each assigned program destination. Ability to pick up materials and return program materials to the GHM&P when they're done. Other duties as assigned.
