About The Position

The Outreach and Education Associate is responsible for educating consumers about the Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP). Using targeted outreach and presentations, the associate will connect consumers with health insurance enrollment, post enrollment services and support services. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Applicants must be comfortable working onsite, based out of the Bronx and have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional Saturdays as needed.
  • Must be comfortable providing coverage at UHP sites including occasional coverage in Corona Queens and Central Harlem as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of previous experience as Facilitated Enroller, IPA Navigator, or other enrollment-based health care positions is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of Affordable Care Act.

Responsibilities

  • Refer consumers for health insurance enrollment, post enrollment assistance and support services.
  • Conduct outreach events and presentations in the community to promote MCCAP services
  • Enter outreach, presentation and referral data in the database required for reporting.
  • Facilitate in-person presentations to educate consumers on health insurance enrollment & post enrollment services.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure connection to services.
