Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or another related field.
  • Maintains unrestricted license to practice in State of Texas: LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, LMSW LMFT, LPT
  • 2 years of practice as a licensed professional as stated above.
  • Experience counseling parents/families.
  • Knowledge and experience working with victims of trauma.
  • Knowledge of the power and control wheel
  • Experienced in domestic violence, child abuse, trauma, or related children's issues.
  • Experience with individual counseling and group counseling.
  • Ability to supervise interns.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to be on-time and maintain a regular, consistent schedule.
  • Ability to work independently, set goals and accomplish with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and agency confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with a diverse client population.
  • Ability to follow proper safety protocols and agency policies to ensure the safety and well-being of the clients.
  • Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs.).
  • Work must be performed in the agency office and/or via Telework options as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Receives and assesses intake calls from all clients to determine immediate safety and crisis needs.
  • Conducts virtual and in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans, identify case management needs, advocacy needs and readiness for therapeutic services.
  • Delivers and provides in-person individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Supports clients by attending court hearings.
  • Ensures weekly utilization rate is at or above agency standards.
  • Participates in scheduled individual client staffing meetings, team meetings and multi- disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintains case files and client notes in a timely manner by entering client treatment plans, case notes, telephone consultations, referrals, and others into agency database.
  • Conducts on-going communication with the Senior Manager of Clincial Services and advocacy team.
  • Assists with adult intakes and counseling to ensure all clients are seen in a timely manner.
  • Research best practices and assist in ensuring that services provided to victims of domestic violence are culturally responsive, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community service providers and organizations to facilitate referrals and coordination of services for clients.
  • Provide consultation for staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Provide on-call staff back-up on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintains current licensure and/or certifications and group affiliations.
  • Attending agency-related domestic violence and ethics training.
  • Participates in agency-related speaking engagements and educational opportunities.
  • Complies with the clinical services program policy and procedures.
  • Initiate changes in protocol, forms, and reports to better serve the client and agency needs.
  • Conduct outreach to the community as needed.
  • Assist in the training and support of clinical interns if applicable.
  • Participate in agency events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
