About The Position

Leads outreach services for the library system to promote services and programs. Maintains communication with library branches and partner organizations to schedule library representation at community events. Provides off-site programming, presentations and information sessions to community organizations including underserved sectors of the community. Assesses community needs and interests to tailor outreach efforts effectively. Create and update outreach training for staff and overseeing outreach materials. Gathers statistics and prepares reports regarding outreach programs, and activities. Works collaboratively with Outreach, Partnerships and Programming team on group projects, grants and events. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years job related experience; experience in community outreach, event planning, public speaking, or marketing preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach, event planning, or marketing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using social media and other digital marketing tools.
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
  • Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
  • Ability to maintain a working schedule for outreach and personal meetings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library patrons, associates, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Library and Information Science preferred.
