About The Position

The Outreach & Communications Coordinator plays a crucial role in expanding the reach, awareness, and impact of our business incubator program across Puerto Rico. This position is responsible for developing and executing outreach strategies to identify and engage with potential entrepreneurs, mentors, community partners, and stakeholders. Also, serves as the primary point of contact to manage our community inquiries and engagements through our social media and traditional communications channels. The Outreach & Communications Coordinator’s efforts will contribute to building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and fostering economic growth in our island.

Requirements

  • Data collection proficiency and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong command of written and verbal communication in Spanish and English; fully bilingual. Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing abilities and command of grammar/punctuation, style, and format; ability to communicate, translate, simplify, and articulate complex ideas into easily understood and relatable concepts.
  • Demonstrate ability to work and engage with diverse audiences, including peers, colleagues, management, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a working atmosphere of respect, professionalism, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Capable of prioritizing work (meet deadlines, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment) and managing multiple simultaneous projects under strict timelines and within confidential circumstances.

  • Experience using: Canva, Mailchimp, Zoom, Google Ads & Google Analytics, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sprout Social, among others.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of previous experience in community outreach, marketing, or business administration.
  • Strong knowledge of creative content for social media and other basic marketing platforms.
  • Strong experience preparing reports.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and develop activities for the entrepreneurial community.
  • Act as a liaison between Fase1 and local communities, organizations, and institutions.
  • Plan and attend networking events, conferences, and community gatherings to promote the program and establish relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract entrepreneurs and startups to the program.
  • Conduct presentations and info-sessions to educate potential applicants about the benefits and opportunities offered by the program.
  • Utilize various channels such as social media, email marketing, and targeted outreach campaigns to reach potential candidates and key stakeholders.
  • Create marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and online content, to promote the program and its initiatives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local businesses, academic institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support program objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners to organize joint events, workshops, and initiatives that benefit entrepreneurs and the business ecosystem community.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, including contacts made, partnerships established, and outcomes achieved.
  • Generate regular reports on outreach efforts, program participation, and impact metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use data insights to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a database of existing and potential partners, sponsors, mentors, and stakeholders for different program efforts.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer (CCMO) and DMC’s Communications & Marketing Manager to synchronize initiatives and messaging requested for social media content to be inserted in the DMC social media calendar.
  • Should learn the tools required to ask for graphic design support from the program marketing contractor and DMC, when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and work collaboratively with the program marketing contractor to define outreach strategies, channels, and content.
  • Ensure that all activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and programmatic standards.
  • Must adhere to the latest update of DMC’s and PRDOH’s Guidelines of Communications & Marketing, defined for all communications and marketing staff.
  • Should be available to support DMC in specific content creation whenever requested in advance by the Fase1 Director.
  • Develop and curate high-quality, visually appealing, and engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Craft compelling and concise content that effectively communicates brand messages, promotions, and announcements.
  • Identify trends, insights, and best practices in social media and recommend outreach strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and management of social media campaigns and promotions, including content calendars, posting schedules, community engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Plan and propose trendy social media campaigns and promotions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
  • Utilize insights to optimize content strategies and inform decision-making.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations and newsletters for the program awareness efforts.
  • Assist with event production.
  • Support the program Lab video production, as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
