About The Position

The Outreach Athletic Trainer at JAG Physical Therapy will provide athletic training services to Moore Catholic High School in Staten Island, NY. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE Approved program.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification.
  • Licensed by the State of New York as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Maintain the BOC-required 50 CEUs per certification period.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to fluid situations.
  • Maintain Personal Liability Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an effective athletic training program for the contracted organization.
  • Provide athletic training services for athletic events and competitions.
  • Create and maintain a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement medical and risk management for all athletes, including preventative and emergency care.
  • Act as the workers compensation case manager for the professional contracted team, submitting insurance information and tracking claims.
  • Document injury, illness, treatment, and rehabilitation in adherence to policy and professional standards.
  • Provide in-services and educational programs on health and fitness topics to local schools and communities.
  • Collaborate with other JAG professionals and communicate with the supervising physician regarding standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with departmental administrative duties and day-to-day operations when not at the outreach location.
  • Oversee the ordering of athletic training supplies and maintain inventory.
