About The Position

To coordinate community resources and referral to the Career Pathways program participants by tracking, checking and verifying information indicated in their needs assessment and by inputting information in electronic software systems, and assisting program participants with internal and external resources and referrals. To coordinate with community colleges to aid in the development of credential/ degree career pathways for in demand industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, e.g., human services, social work, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in community outreach and placement services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective grammar, English, and writing skills.
  • PC Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to accept responsibility, take initiative, problem-solve and exercise good judgement.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in handling interruptions and variation.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid California driver's license, and liability insurance acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to Career Pathways program participants with accessing community resources.
  • Establish outreach services with program participants per their needs assessment through internal and external referrals.
  • Develop and distribute resource materials for program participants as needed, such as housing, food, mental health, and current job openings.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with community agencies and community colleges.
  • Lead and participate in outreach and recruitment efforts of Goodwill Employees and community members for the Career Pathways program.
  • Develop partnerships with local community colleges to develop linkages to certificate programs that lead to employment in targeted in-demand industries.
  • Collaborate with local community colleges to develop cohorts of individuals pursuing targeted in-demand certification trainings.
  • Organize and participate in community activities and events that have high visibility for Career Pathways.
  • Assist program participants in applying for and utilizing their community resources and/or training programs, college admissions, and/or vocational programs.
  • Drive on company business as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
  • Safeguard company property, including donated goods.
  • Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • Act safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Promote and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork.
  • Assist and share knowledge and information with other employees as needed.
  • Use good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.
  • Work with, train, and/or act as a good example for program participants receiving training at Goodwill.
