Starting Salary: $53,949 annually The Sooner Job Challenge program residential phase serves up to 60 “At Risk” youth ages 17- to 21-year-old. The Program combines classroom work, technical school training, career development, community service, physical training, and team-building activities to enhance the life-skills and employability potential of these youth. Additional major elements of the program are: career skills, academic achievement, community building and outreach, fitness for life, resiliency and life skills, leadership/followership at work citizenship, healthy living, discipline, physical fitness, practical job skills training and character development. This program is a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation. Basic Purpose: Under the supervision and guidance from the Director/Deputy Director, the qualified candidate will coordinate recruitment and admissions of potential associates. Responsible for in-processing participants and gathering demographics, performance, and trends for tracking in a data management system. Will be responsible for the supervision of one Recruiter. In addition, you will represent the program and work with the management team to develop and implement initiatives that increase program visibility within the surrounding community and around the state. Essential Functions: The O&A Coordinator operates at a high degree of independence and responsibility planning and conducting Program information and outreach. Involved in program improvement and develops marketing strategies to promote the Sooner Job ChalleNGe program to gain and maintain partnerships and support of employers through direct interface and information and training sessions, including attending job fairs and employment recruitment events. Through relationships and partnerships, actively seek and schedule opportunities for students to represent the program at high profile community outreach/service to community events. Plan and coordinate field trip activities and events for students that have an educational, recreational, community service, athletic, or creative purpose. Develop and maintain partnerships/relationships with civic organizations, municipalities, school districts, government agencies, etc. to further develop the public image of the Sooner Job ChalleNGe Program. Designs and manages web-based tools, such as web pages and social network sites as resources for the Program. Prepares, edits and distributes brochures, flyers and handouts that promote and represent the Sooner Job ChalleNGE Program. Conducts interviews with prospective students to evaluate potential. Works with department heads of the Thunderbird ChalleNGe Program in order to review records during the admission process. Required to travel to Thunderbird Challenge Program, Pryor, OK at least once a month for recruiting activities. Create press releases and manage regular social media feeds to promote the program image. Attends community events to further program relationships and promote the programs public image. Attend student scheduled events as required. Attend program and departmental meetings and trainings as required.
