ChristianaCare's Outpatient Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a Full-Time (80 hours over two weeks) Ultrasound Technologist to work the day shift at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures at the request of physicians to aid in the diagnosis of disease or related abnormalities.

Requirements

Completion of two-year accredited program in Ultrasound Sonography is required.
CPR Certification
An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
ARDMS Registered; Abdomen and/ or OB/Gyn certification required.
CPR Certified

Responsibilities

Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of Ultrasound equipment, radiology supported computer systems, and CD burners.
Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses.
Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
Demonstrates ability to provide technologist’s tentative readings as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in assisting physicians during invasive procedures.
Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination, completes necessary measurement documentation, and obtains appropriate consent.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures and quality control.
Demonstrates problem solving skills, acts as liaison OP Imaging department, clinicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ability to assess patients for changes in patient status.
Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development.
Provides excellent customer service to patients, family members, physicians and staff.
Performs other duties as required.
