About The Position

The Outpatient Therapy Services Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and individual therapy services, specializing in mental health and addiction treatment. The Supervisor will oversee the delivery of high-quality behavioral health care services with a primary focus on community partnerships and collaboration with the City of Newport News to serve high-risk unhoused patrons. Build and maintain strong partnerships with Newport News agencies, shelters, outreach teams, and city officials to coordinate care for unhoused individuals. The supervisor will ensure that services are delivered in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, while fostering a collaborative and supportive treatment environment. This position will also provide leadership and supervision to the Outpatient Therapists and Peer Recovery Specialists, ensuring that all team members are aligned with program goals and quality standards. This role is an important part of the Multidisciplinary Team, ensuring the daily programming in the Outpatient programs are taking place, coordinating multidisciplinary teams are functioning at highest levels, and that all patients have comprehensive individualized care while at RMRHC.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field (Required)
  • 2 years minimum of clinical experience (Required)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
  • First Aid - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)

Responsibilities

  • Participates in professional activities, in-service programs, new employee orientation and committee assignments to enhance personal, professional, and institutional advancement.
  • Actively engages in referral development activities.
  • Completes and submits all required reports within specified time frames.
  • Completes established goals and objectives.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees to ensure high employee morale and professional atmosphere.
  • Provides ongoing constructive feedback and evaluation.
  • Provides clinical supervision to necessary staff and ensures their team has the necessary resources and education to complete their job.
  • Lead team meetings, case reviews, and other staff development activities to foster a collaborative environment and ensure continuous improvement in clinical practices.
  • Communicates well with all hospital departments as well as Referral Sources, Patients, and Families. Positive interpersonal relations dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts, representing the outpatient therapy services in professional and community settings.
  • Regularly practices service excellence and serves as a role model to others.
  • Engages in RMHRC PI activities to include focus groups, PI teams, task forces, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, implements, and analyzes productivity standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in department(s) and holds team accountable to those standards.
  • Ensures that the treatment plan and treatment team process on all Outpatient programs meets minimum standards, best practice and guides the patient’s care.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of therapy services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Is an active part of the Multidisciplinary Team and helps guide care.
  • Ensures all charts and patient records have appropriate documentation.
  • Utilizes best practice and therapeutic interventions on all RMHRC Units.
  • Utilizes evidenced based practice, minimum participation standards.
  • Develops, coordinates and oversees clinical programming.
  • Quickly able to respond to the changing needs of the community and population served.
  • Assists in the development of new and changing programs.
  • Ensures all patients leave with appropriate discharge plans, plays an active role in ensuring all Readmissions are reviewed, and setting patients up for success post discharge.
  • Develop and update as needed transportation schedule and routes for RMHRC outpatient programs.
