About The Position

The Bridge Family Center is seeking an experienced Therapist to provide individual and family psychotherapy, group work, and crisis intervention to children and adolescents in the assigned West Hartford High School-Based Clinic. This person in this role will maintain cooperative linkages with the assigned school. Occasional evening or weekend program involvement may be required. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Counseling required. Will consider other degrees that meet the educational and therapeutic requirements of the position.
  • Extensive experience working with youth and adolescents, particularly providing therapy, and groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Independent licensure required (LMFT, LCSW, LPC).
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to regularly commute between multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize responsibilities and function independently within program activities.
  • Display a high energy level and positive attitude.
  • Respond readily to changing conditions.
  • Exercise effective individual and family therapy and group facilitation skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrate positive rapport with youth, including ability to establish professional boundaries and limits.
  • Exercise good judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a school environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective therapy for children, adolescents and families, as demonstrated by documented progress toward treatment goals. Therapy takes place at the assigned school clinic and, when necessary, at an assigned OPCC office.
  • Maintain timely and complete clinical records in electronic recordkeeping system in accordance with licensing and funder requirements.
  • Maintain required caseload with a variety of challenging cases. Participate in joining with clients as demonstrated by kept appointments.
  • Participate in Youth and Family Services crisis intervention as appropriate and assigned.
  • Facilitate referrals to Bridge medication management services when clinically indicated.
  • Support the Mission of the Bridge Family Center, the Outpatient Clinics, and the Youth and Family Services Department.
  • Facilitate necessary processes to ensure client payment and meet or surpass revenue goals.
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled team and group clinical supervision meetings.
  • Actively participate in weekly or bi-weekly individual clinical supervision; frequency to be determined by Clinical Director or their designee.
  • Participate in in-service trainings as assigned.
  • Network with referral sources and represent the Bridge and Outpatient Clinics in a professional manner.
  • Represent the Bridge, the Outpatient Clinics, and the Youth and Family Services Department at school community events as assigned.
  • Foster a working relationship at assigned West Hartford schools.
  • Refer clients to other programs, sponsored by the Bridge or other organizations as appropriate.
